ULTRASOUND DEVELOPEMENT

Ultrasound imaging uses the principles of sonar, developed for ships at sea. As sound passes through the
baby it produeces echoes. Which can identify distance, size and shape of object inside.

The echoes are analyzed by a computer in the ultrasound machine and transformed into moving pictures of organs or tissues being examined.

Ultrasound waves are unable to penetrate bone or gas, so ultrasound is of limited use for examining regions surrounded by bone, or areas that contain gas on air. Even so, ultrasound has been used to examine most parts of the body.

State of the art GE Volusion, ultrasound machine. This ultrasound does 2D, 3D, and 4D. Our ultrasound is hooked up to a 32" flat screen TV for easier viewing by mother and family.

We want all our patients to know that there are no harmful bio-effects known from performing ultrasound (which has been around for over 30 years). There is no radiation involved in ultrasound. For any questions about ultrasound, feel free to call us at 432-333-5100.
